The Gauhati High Court, Guwahati, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 367 Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) posts in the district courts of Assam. This recruitment drive offers a significant opportunity for graduates seeking a stable government job. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria to apply for the Junior Administrative Assistant posts.
Educational Qualification: A candidate must be a Graduate in any stream from a UGC-recognized University as of the last date of application submission.
Computer Knowledge: The candidate must possess a certificate of Computer knowledge for a minimum of 3 (three) months.
Language Proficiency: The candidate must have knowledge of the Official Language of the State of Assam (Assamese).
Employment Exchange Registration: The candidate must possess a valid Employment Exchange registration number for the State of Assam.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an application fee according to their category. The fee must be paid via a challan at any branch of the State Bank of India.
- SC/ST: Rs. 250/-
- All others: Rs. 500/-
- PwBD: No Fee
Selection Process
The selection process for the JAA posts will consist of three stages. A common written examination will be held for all districts; however, the final selection will be made district-wise.
Stage 1: Common Written Test (120 Marks)
This will be an OMR-based objective test with a duration of two hours. It will consist of the following subjects:
- General English (50 marks)
- General Knowledge, including Computer Knowledge (30 marks)
- General Aptitude (20 marks)
- Official Language of Assam (Assamese): 20 marks (This paper is qualifying in nature, and candidates must score at least 40%, i.e., 8 marks. Marks from this section will not be counted for the merit list).
Note: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Stage 2: Computer Skill Test (35 Marks)
Candidates will be selected for this stage in a 1:5 ratio (5 times the number of posts in a district) based on their performance in the written test. The skill test includes:
- Computer Typing Test (20 marks): Test of typing speed and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Word Processor and Spreadsheet (15 marks).
Stage 3: Viva-voce (15 Marks)
Candidates will be called for the Viva-voce in a 1:3 ratio based on their combined marks in the written and computer skill tests. The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained in the Written Test (100 marks), Computer Skill Test (35 marks), and Viva-voce (15 marks).
